An interesting view of Margam MPD and yard, taken on 11th July 1970. In addition to the breakdown train and its steam crane, diesel locos present include 'Hymek', Brush Type 4 and English Electric Type 3. The Depot opened in March 1964 to service locomotives using the marshalling yard. It officially closed on 1st August 2009 but soldiered on until 17th September due to work being undertaken on a diesel shunter.
