In very poor light following a heavy thunderstorm, Class 47 diesel electric No. 47613 'North Star' pulls steadily away from Gloucester on 21st October 1985 with a Cardiff Central - Newcastle service. New from Crewe Works as No. D1661 in February 1965 and first allocated to Landore (87E), the loco was named at Paddington Station on 20th March of that year. It became No. 47077 under TOPS and was withdrawn as No. 47613 in May 2007. The loco is now preserved as No. D1661 on the West Somerset Railway.
