The East Lancs Railway held their annual Summer Diesel Gala over the weekend of 6th - 8th July 2012. The cloud and rain of the first day of the gala gave way to blue skies and sunshine on the second, bringing out the crowds to enjoy a feast of diesel haulage. Resident ELR loco Class 20 No. 20087 heads towards Ramsbottom Station to work the 2E68 11:34 shuttle service to Bury after running round the empty stock in the loop. The 'Chopper' was a last-minute substitution for Class 47 No. D1501 which was booked to work this train but failed before departure with the outward working from Bury.
