DB Schenker Class 66/0 No. 66144 approaches Great Rocks Junction with the 12:05 Briggs Sidings to Peak Forest Up Sidings stone train on 1st November 2015. The train is running on the former up formation of the Midland Railway route from Manchester Central to London St. Pancras via Matlock. This is now a bi-directional single line from Great Rocks to Buxton and the driver is about to hand over the single line token to the signaller at Great Rocks box. The track on the right of the loco is now the arrival line for trains entering the quarry complex at Tunstead. Note the sheep below the headlight between the cab windows.
