Compass Railtours ran its first charter from Southport on May 2 when the train saw the first locomotive working for over 2 years. The train was operated in top n tail mode as Class 47 No. 47270 Swift curved out of Southport with Class 47 47580 County of Essex on the rear en route to Carlisle via Manchester, Diggle, Calder Valley, Copy Pit, Blackburn then the S&C to Carlisle.
