Tram No. 271 crosses the boundary between Leith and Edinburgh on 26th October 2024 while working a Newhaven - Airport service. The boundary existed unto 1922 when Edinburgh absorbed Leith and was forced to change its cable car network to electric in order to provide through transport between the two towns.
