Probably one of the best kept GP16's in service,it's condition owing much to a general overhaul in Padukah shops and 'celebrity' status as one of the company's favorite and oldest engines, Indiana RR, 1701 is due to celebrate it's 60th birthday this year. However, just because it's a 'pet' doesn't mean it has an easy life. and 1701 is hard at work on a daily basis, usually found servicing the industry in and around Bloomington, Indiana. Here she is found basking in the springtime Sunday waiting her next turn of duty.
