Another photo of the down main splitting signal at West Holmes, Lincoln taken on 19 July 2008, one arm has been removed, the second awaits the inevitable. Visible to the left is the very much redundant concrete post splitting semaphore which served the exit from the old GC goods shed. The signal prior to its demise had two miniature somersault signals. This excellent site shows the pegs in all their glory 25 years ago. http://www.roscalen.com/signals/Lincoln/WestHolmes.htm . Also visible are the new colour lights waiting to take up their positions. Will they last 120 years ?
