In Railfreight grey livery and carrying the Gateshead Metropolitan Borough Council 'In Unity Progress' Coat of Arms on the cabside, Gateshead allocated Class 56 No. 56135 'Port of Tyne Authority' is stabled on Thornaby MPD on 13th December 1986. No. 56135 was the final Class 56 member to be built being released from BREL Crewe Works in November 1984 and named during November 1985. Withdrawn from Immingham TMD in January 1999 after a working life of just over 14 years No. 56135 was subsequently scrapped at Immingham TMD during August 2003.
