A bi-lingual English-Latin trespass warning sign at Wallsend Metro Station. About 2000 years ago Latin was the language of the locals. Segedunum Roman Fort, at the eastern end of Hadrians Wall, is about ¼mile from the station. It is unlikely, however, that the Roman soldiers used the Metro as they had to March everywhere!
