A very interesting visitor to Gloucester Horton Road MPD on 9th May 1985 was Class 27 diesel electric No. 27036. It was making its way back to Scotland after overhaul at Swindon Works, followed by a guest appearance at Westbury Open Day on 5th May. New as No. D5385 from the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in May 1962 and re-numbered under TOPS, it was withdrawn in April 1986 and cut up by Vic Berry at Thornton Yard during March 1987.
