Driving Brake Standard Open No. 9703 at Gloucester on 4th May 2013, on the rear of 3Z03, the 07.06 Cardiff Central - Derby RTC working hauled by DRS Class 37/4 No. 37402. New as BSO No. 9517 from BREL Derby in 1974, it was converted to DBSO No. 9703 at St Rollox, Glasgow, in 1979 for the Scotrail Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh push-pull service. It later moved on to operate on the Liverpool Street - Norwich service before being acquired by Network Rail in 2007. The following year it was converted for departmental operation by Serco at Derby and painted in NR livery.
