'Western' Class diesel Hydraulic No. D1004 'Western Crusader' pulls slowly out of the yard at Exeter St Davids on 22nd May 1971 with 7V53, the Stoke-on-Trent - St Blazey 'Clayliner' empties. New from Swindon Works in May 1962, it was withdrawn from service in August 1973 and cut-up at its birthplace during September 1974.
