In the very unpopular rail blue livery period, Vale of Rheidol 2-6-2T No. 9 'Prince of Wales' waits to depart from Devil's Bridge on 17th August 1971 with a train for Aberystwyth. In 1923, after taking over the line from the Cambrian Railway, the GWR built the loco as No. 1213. It was re-numbered to No. 9 in 1946 but was not named until 1956.
