English Electric Type 4 No. 439 at Crewe Diesel Depot on 16th August 1971, coupled to No. 416. The pair had just arrived with a service from Glasgow Central. New from Vulcan Foundry in September 1968 and allocated to Stoke Division (D05), it became No. 50039 'Implacable' under TOPS. It was withdrawn from Bristol Bath Road in June 1989 and was cut-up by Coopers Metals at Old Oak Common in September 1991.
