Steam traction returned to Liverpool Lime Street on 14th July 2024 when Stanier Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 44871, working in top n tail mode with WCRC Class 47/4 No. 47802, appeared to work a Liverpool Lime Street - Llandudno charter on behalf of the Railway Touring Company.
