Following a fatality on the East Coast mainline at Chester-le-Street on 5th July 2024, the 10.00 from London King's Cross to Aberdeen, formed by Class 800/1 No. 800104 'Celebrating Scotland (Our Official LNER Tartan train)', was diverted at Northallerton around the Durham Coast. Here, it crosses Yarm Viaduct running 112 minutes late. The set continued through to Aberdeen, where it arrived at 21:08, 244 minutes late, resulting in the whole journey from London King's Cross to Aberdeen taking 11 hours!.
