On 25th March 2024, Transport for Wales Class 230 No. 230007 passes Penyffordd with a Wrexham General to Birkenhead North EMUD, mileage accumulation/crew training run. Class 230 units are battery/diesel powered and are rebuilt London underground D Stock and used specifically by TfW on the Wrexham to Bidston borders line.
