In this general view of the Cape Metrorail Depot at Salt River in Cape Town on 26th March 2024, the odd looking electric multiple No. 0214 in the centre foreground, is a Class 8M unit; one oClass 8M, 4 car sets built by Dorby / Hitachi between 1988 and 1990 for use on the services to Khayelitsha. They are to be withdrawn as the new blue and white Gibela units, as typified by unit 004 alongside, come into service.
