An unusual sight at Dorridge on 16th December 2023 sees a passenger service put in the up loop to allow a freight to pass. Freightliner Class 70 No. 70014 powers through Dorridge 13 minutes late with the 06:49 Crewe Basford Hall to Southampton intermodal working. Tucked in the loop behind is the 08:51 Birmingham Snow Hill to Stratford upon Avon worked by West Midlands Trains Class 172 Nos. 172239 and 172219. This service has a scheduled 4 minute wait at Dorridge so was not unduly delayed.
