Vintage Trains began their Polar Express services in the teeth of Storm Bert on 23rd November 2024. From Birmingham Moor Street the trains are diesel hauled to the North Pole, either Dorridge Down Loop or Whitlocks End, before steam haulage back to Moor Street. In suitably Arctic conditions GWR Castle Class No. 7029 Clun Castle is seen waiting at Whitlocks End with the last return trip of the day. Class 47 No. 47773 was on the rear.
