On the 17th July 2023, Colas Class 43, No. 43277 'Safety Task Force', has arrived in the south loop at Newcastle Central station with a test train working, which began in Darlington and visited Edinburgh and Glasgow before returning to Newcastle. The train will reverse here with No. 43277 leading before heading off to Derby as; the 17.59 from Newcastle to Derby RTC(Network Rail).
Classmate No. 43290 is at the rear at this point.
