The Class 40 Preservation Society operated BR Class 40 No. D345 (40145) at Newcastle with the return leg of Pathfinders The Whistling Geordie railtour on the evening of 12th November 2022. The railtour would return to Burton on Trent via Darlington, Calder Valley, Crewe and Birmingham.
