BR Class 31/1 No. D5627 later numbered as 31203 couples up to its train at Blaenavon on 22nd September 2024. The loco operated from Bescot and Immingham on freight duties, before moving to Civil Engineer duties in the 1990s. Placed into storage in July 2000, 31203 was purchased for preservation and was restored at the Chasewater Railway, before being moved to the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway where the locomotive is now based. Following another overhaul, completed in early 2024, it is now operating services and running in its original livery as D5627.
