Rain bearing clouds drift away allowing the late afternoon sun to shine on Merseyrail Class 508 No. 508128 and classmate No. 507020 as they await their next turns of duty Southport on 6th October 2022. These elderly EMUs have given good service to the Merseyside community for roughly 40 years and are due to be replaced over the coming months by a new fleet of 'Stadler' built Class 777 units.
