This Class 71, Bo-Bo electric locomotive No. E5001, which was built by BR at their Doncaster works in 1958 for the Southern Region and has recently been repainted in BR Blue livery, is seen in the main exhibition hall at 'Locomotion', the NRM at Shildon, Co. Durham, on 31st July 2022. Alongside is No. 1621, a North Eastern Railway, Class M1, 4-4-0, which was designed by Wilson Worsdell and built at Gateshead in 1893.
