On 1 1st January 2019 Northern Rail and DRS ran a Class 37 Farewell service from Carlisle to Carnforth and return to mark the end of Class 37 passenger operations on the Cumbrian Coast line. DRS Class 37 No. 37409 Lord Hinton is seen running along the estuary between Grange over Sands and Arnside with the outbound working, the 09.52 from Carlisle. Classmate No. 37425 Sir Robert McAlpine/Concrete Bob was on the rear and both locomotives are clearly under power.
