On the 18th September 2018, a Colas Rail Freight Class 70 No. 70813, is seen passing through Platform 4 at Carlisle Citadel Station with; the Carlisle New Yard to Kronospan at Chirk, trainload of logs. However, the train encountered difficulties and after being 25 minutes early at Kirkby Stephen, had lost 220 minutes on the climb to Ais Gill. The service was finally cancelled at Farington Junction, where the train arrived 287 minutes late at 21.44.
