On the 8th July 2018, ex LNER Gresley A3 Pacific No. 60103 "Flying Scotsman", is seen passing Brampton, near Appleby, with the returning "Waverley" rail charter from Carlisle to York, via the S&C. WCRC Class 37 No. 37669, was tucked inside to provide assistance, due to a possible fire risk during this spell of very hot weather.
