On 13th August 2017, BR Peak Class 45 No. 45041 (D53) 'Royal Tank Regiment' stands at Butterley Station with a Midland Railex event service. Visiting from the South Devon Railway, Ex-BR Class 33 No. D6501 is at the front of the train. Peckett 0-4-0ST No. 1163 built in 1908 and running as a Swansea Docks shunter, runs into the station on Driver for a Fiver duties on the parallel line.
