Previously, in March 2016, the Ceres Rail Company ran a tourist train on the branch line between Wolseley and Ceres, up the scenic Michell's Pass, in the Western Cape.
In October 2016, they became more ambitious and began running a steam hauled train from Cape Town to Ceres and back using their ex SAR Class 19D No. 3321, named Jessica, which is an oil burning 4-8-2 locomotive, built by the North British Locomotive Company in Glasgow in 1948.
