Class 90 90016 makes an unexpected appearance at Preston in the early hours of 12th November 2016 while working the Euston - Glasgow Central / Edinburgh sleeper service. This locomotive had been restricted to freight duty following problems that had arisen when the locomotive last worked a passenger service but a shortage of Class 90 traction resulted in the locomotive being allocated to the sleeper service at short notice.
