On an extremely wet 2nd April 2016, the ECML was closed between Doncaster & York due to engineering works, necessitating relevant services to be re-routed via Knottingley & Church Fenton, creating some unusual sightings. Here, Virgin Trains East Coast Class 43/3 HST No. 43315 and classmate No. 43316 on the rear, pass Church Fenton Station, heading the 07:30 Edinburgh to London King's Cross service.
