A3 Class Pacific No. 60103 Flying Scotsman made its first public runs on the ELR on 9th January 2016 with a number of round trips from Bury - Rawtenstall - Heywood - Bury. The A3 is seen leaving Rawtenstall with the first trip which included Class 31/4 No. 31466 to supply air into the braking system, following problems with the steam locomotives air compressor.
