Metre-gauge Matterhorn Gotthard Bahn EMU ABDeh 4/10 No. 2021 crosses the 1,449 metre high Mattertal Valley and prepares to begin the challenging 355 metre climb via the Tasch crossing point (where the last rack section begins) and under the avalanche galleries to Zermatt, working the 16:10 Visp to Zermatt service on 27th June 2014. The Monte Rosa Massif, which incorporates Swithzerland's highest peak (Dufourspitze, 4,634 m), the Gorner Glacier, (the second-largest glacier in the Alps) and a total of 29 mountains above 4,000 m, including the famous Matterhorn, can be seen at the head of the valley.
