The Tour de France was started in Yorkshire during July 2014 and called for transport arrangements which included the hiring-in of loco-hauled services. On 6th July 2014 a Blackburn - Bradford shuttle service was operated using Class 47 No.47810 Peter Bath MBE 1927-2007 working in top n tail mode with Class 57/3 No. 57308 County of Staffordshire. Sadly 47810 failed in the afternoon, leaving 57308 to work the afternoon service on its own - here seen topping the summit at Copy Pit and dropping through Portsmouth to reach the Calder Valley en route to Bradford.
