Brush Type 4 No. D1582 and Clayton No. D8588 add to a variety of motive power in the roundhouse section of Thornaby MPD on 6th April 1969. The roundhouse was demolished in 1988 but the remainder of the Depot survived until closure in 2009. Demolition and site clearance took place between May and June of 2011. D1582 was withdrawn as Class 47 No. 47462 in January 1999 and was cut up by the Harry Needle Railroad Company at Toton during March 2003. D8588 was withdrawn in October 1971 and was cut up at St Rollox Works during July 1973.
