Type 3 diesel electric No. 6517 propels a Weymouth - London Waterloo service out of Branksome on 20th August 1970. The line diverging to the right ran to the former S & DJR terminus of Bournemouth West until its closure in September 1965, following which it was retained as access to the TMD. The loco was new from the Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company in July 1960 and allocated to Hither Green (73C). It was fitted for push-pull operation in May 1967 and became Class 33/1 No. 33105 under TOPS in December 1973. Withdrawn from service in October 1987, it was cut up by Vic Berry of Leicester during November 1990.
