LNER Pacific Class A4 Pacific No. 4464 Bittern approaching Ryther, south of Colton Junction hauling the 1Zxx Ebor Steak Railtour Charter on the East Coast Main Line from London Kings Cross to York on Saturday 29th June 2013. This tour was one of three that celebrate the 75th Anniversary of A4 Pacific Mallard achieving the World Steam Record of 126 mph on July 3rd 1938. Bittern had special dispensation to run at 90 mph over three sections of the route, instead of the present 75 mph limit. Ryther is situated towards the end of the third section from North of Doncaster to Colton Junction.
