The first order for Siemens latest Vectron design was placed by locomotive hirer Railpool during 2012 when 6 examples were ordered.
The first of those was noted at Braunschweig on 7th February 2013, when what was thought to be 193.801 raced through the station with an east-bound car carrier service.
