Green-liveried English Electric Type 4 No. 288 stabled at the derelict site of the former Edge Hill MPD on 26th May 1972. New from Vulcan Foundry to Crewe North (5A) in August 1960, the loco became No. 40088 under TOPS in 1973, was withdrawn from Longsight in February 1982 and cut-up by A Hampton at Crewe Works in November 1988.
