During mid-July a series of test ran between Warrington Arpley and Carlisle to test members of the Class 92 fleet. On 12th July the test train of 21 HTS wagons plus 2 dead Class 92 Nos. 92027 George Eliot and 92025 Oscar Wilde curved through Euxton with the return working while Class 66/8 No. 66848 slowly moved up the local line with the Carlisle - Chirk timber service.
