The pair of Class 73/1 locomotives, replacing the normal Class 150 unit on the Network Measurement Train, arrived at Southport on February 14 as part of its North West England tour. The train was late departs from Springs Branch and its late arrival at Southport was eased by a quick turn round that saw 73107 Redhill 1844-1994 leading the ensemble back to Wigan with 73138 now forming the rear portion.
