The NYMR Autumn Gala over the weekend of September 30 thru October 2 saw 8 locomotives at work including 2 Stanier Class 5 4-6-0s on Esk Valley services. The final southbound service of the event was the 18:00 Grosmont - Pickering train, formed of the 17:20 ex Whitby powered by Class 9 2-10-0 No. 92214 Cock O' The North as it climbs the last few yards into Goathland station as dusk falls over the railway.
