A mixed bag of locomotion may be seen in this image taken at Bodmin on 15th September 2011, the predominent engine being one of the former London & South Western Railway's Beattie well tanks. No. 30587 is a 2-4-0 WT and was built by Beyer Peacock in 1874 to the design of W G Beattie; originally intended for suburban duties two members of this class (along with No. 30587) were retained for many years loger than their class mates to work the lightly laid Wenford Bridge line in this part of Cornwall. Currently painted in BR Black it was ou of service on the day of the photographer's visit.
