Like many branch termini the one at Windermere once boasted a substantial station with plenty of infrastructure and facilities in accordance with its importance; now there is but a single platform with some shelter for intending passengers, most of the former railway footprint of platforms, sidings and goods shed being taken up by retail outlets and car parking. On 22nd June 2013 First Trans Pennine Class 185 No. 185114 awaits passengers before its departure at 17:06 to Manchester Airport.
