The Flam Railway runs down the valley from Myrdal following the mountain side to drop to the valley floor at gradients of upto 1 in 18. On August 18 2011 172230 sits at the rear of a train to Flam at Myrdal as sister engine 172232 is prepared to lead the return journey.
