The daily coal working from Gwaun-Cae-Gurwen to Swansea Burrows Sidings has to accommodate the infrequent passenger service on the Heart of Wales line. On 25th May 2011 EWS-liveried No. 66004 is held just north of Pantyffynnon station to allow a service train to clear the single-line from Hendy Junction.
