The refurbished Staythorpe No. SignalBox on the Nottingham to Newark Castle line seem on Saturday 30th April 2011. Located at the Newark end of the line it retains all mechanical semaphores including two heavy pulls for the two distant signals. Still in situ but clipped and padlocked out of use are the connections into the Down reception sidings. There was talk of these sidings being brought back into use for delivery of oil to the new Staythorpe power station but nothing has transpired to date.
