Although the picture seems to show D6121, on the left, the locomotive is actually No. D6122. Careful examination of the number shows the vestiges of the final '2' which has worn-off over the years at Barry. The explanation: No. D6122 was given the cab of D6121 in 1964; the old number was painted-over and is now visible after weathering. D601, 'Ark Royal' is adjacent.
